Nanterre > "Nuages" Towers

Nanterre > "Nuages" Towers

The architectural quality of the Tours Nuages designed by Emile Aillaud has been recognised with a ‘outstanding contemporary architecture’ award. Renovating the tower blocks was thus synonymous not only with renovating an architectural entity which is outstanding in terms of form, colour and the urban landscape thereby fashioned, but also improving the level of comfort offered by each flat (reducing heat loss, improving usage). We decided to clad the towers’ exteriors in a new skin, entirely covering the existing façades while respecting the original openings, planes and colour effects which we sought to amplify, in tune with the spirit of the existing buildings and the original draft drawings.
